Dexerials' proud "roll-to-roll imprinting technology" is a technique that continuously forms fine structures ranging from several hundred nanometers to several hundred micrometers in size on films extending over hundreds of meters in length. Our company possesses two technologies for creating the master plates used to transfer fine structures onto film substrates: "lithography processing" and "precision machining." The surface of the cylindrical substrate is coated with a resin called resist, and after a laser light draws a pattern on the resist with a pre-calculated movement, a treatment called dry etching is applied, where plasma gas is used to form fine structures. Lithography processing can engrave intricate patterns on the master plate at the nanometer scale. The other method for creating the master plate is precision machining using machinery. In this process, a metallic cylindrical substrate is rotated while being cut with high-hardness bits (cutters) such as diamonds to form fine structures on the surface. *For more detailed information, please refer to the related links.
